"The new Masters of Science in Health Information Technology at the University of Michigan is great! Upon applying for admission to this program, I was nervous and unsure of the usefulness of obtaining this degree. I am now half way through the course of the program, and I and so glad I followed through with it! The core classes of this program have taught me how to properly gather and analyze health care data."

"Energy Systems Engineering The graduate program is really structured for the working class and not really for regular students. it is somehow structured for the intellectual needs of surrounding companies (i.e programs are designed as deemed applicable to the needs of surrounding industries). All graduate classes are 6:00 - 8:45 pm after work. Financial Aid is limited and very competitive. You will be required to complete at least 30 credits for the Masters duration with the option of thesis. The larger proportion of students in a typical class are Indians and Asians, and a few natives with females making up less than 10%. The younger faculty are usually more enthusiastic and are always ready to help you learn. The much older ones are nicer but would not come down to your level of thinking. The environment is really a competitive one so you better brace up. Students however are much willing to help. Grading is subject to instructor, they may decide to curve based on general performance of the class. The Library is only opened till 11:45 pm you are advised to get a good accommodation where you could study at night. The programs are not really structured for research rather they are taught programs however if you happen to get a research position with a professor, your tuition will be covered in addition to stipends for living expenses which is sufficient however be ready to work tirelessly with no option of working elsewhere. Flexibility is really encouraged and there are sufficient avenues to really get engaged either in your field or elsewhere. Campus is really beautiful and surrounded with flora. Aesthetically designed to really hide the schools population such that you would not know activities are taking place within. Generally the University of Michigan-Dearborn is a very nice school to attend, having a balance mix of male and female. It offers a wide range of program under the different colleges - Business; Engineering & Computer Science; Arts, Science & Letters; & College of Education, Health, & Human Services. The school generally has a friendly and welcoming and diverse environment and organizes series of events that fosters integration. I recommend U of M Dearborn for professional / working class students."

"The University of Michigan-Dearborn is a fine institution. Although just a commuter school and many students simply attend class and then go home, it is worth it to get involved. Getting involved in the slew of extracurricular activities enhances the educational experience one receives at this school. There aren't as many majors offered as other universities, but all the professors are here for a big reason - small class sizes and the chance to create relationships with individual students. The specific attention I was able to receive by visiting professors and talking about progress motivated me to improve as I didn't feel like a face lost in a large crowd."

"As a non-traditional college student, I actually took classes at three other colleges before landing at the University of Michigan - Dearborn. What I appreciated most about the this institution were its small class sizes, as well as its plethora of diversity. The small class sizes allowed for a more intimate learning environment, one which welcomed student-teacher interactions and also encouraged teamwork. The high level of diversity allowed for a unique learning experience which introduced various opinions and perspectives from multiple places around the world. Another positive aspect I would like to discuss is the advising resources that were offered at this university. As a student with the aspiration of going to medical school and becoming a doctor, I was blessed to have a phenomenal pre-med advisor who guided me through the entire application process, and shed light in areas I was very unsure about. These benefits supported me as I earned my B.S. in biological sciences, and also helped me gain acceptance to the medical school of my choice. While reviewing my degree program in biology however, I am disappointed to say that I was not satisfied with the upper level requirements presented by it. Many of my peers who were also pursuing a degree in biology and shared an interest in the pre-health field, ranging from pre-med, pre-dentistry, pre-pharmacy, or etc. agreed with my criticism of the program. The main issue was that many of the required upper level biology courses seemed inappropriate for the pre-health track. For example while most of us would've preferred to take human physiology instead of plant physiology, we were forced to enroll in the latter as a requirement, and offered human physiology is an elective instead. As an individual who is currently on his path towards medical school, I would have appreciated a biology program which was more tailored to my eventual post graduate education rather than one which forced required classes that I did not care to take. While talking to many of my classmates were also in the same major as myself I received very similar feedback as well in regards to classes such as plant physiology, ecology, and comparative animal physiology, which were required over more pertinent courses such as human physiology, bio chemistry, or cellular biology which were not. That being said, in hindsight I may have instead chosen a different major, perhaps biochemistry of microbiology, so I could have avoided classes that were not going to prep me for medical school. Overall I would recommend this university to anyone who is interested in a more intimate learning environment that both encourages individuality and inclusion, and is also interested in the pre-health sciences as this college is known to produce many medical students, dental students, and pharmacy students. Through my experience I can safely state that if you pursue a pre-health track at the University of Michigan - Dearborn, and you utilize both the advising resources and multiple student-run organizations present at the school, you will receive the tools necessary to succeed and acquire those dreams you dare the chase."

"I enjoyed my time at University of Michigan - Dearborn. I enjoyed the ability to commute to class while living at home. I also appreciated that they offered a wide range of classes so I could earn my degree going to school full time while also working. There are many night and online classes you can take. The professors were always helpful. The campus is pleasing and easy to get to."

"The facilities are amazing. Located right near the rouge river with natural lands behind campus, this is the perfect place to study environmental impacts as well as restoration. Classes can be taken as few or many at a time as the student would like. A con is that there is not a good variety of courses offered in the summer sessions."

"The campus is great. So are the class sizes. Not too big and not too small. Nearly all my instructors have been great. Student activities and groups are great. The student body is very diverse in terms of age, gender, race and backgrounds so you get to meet a lot of different people. I really enjoyed my time at UM-D. Harvard on the Rouge as we like to joke."

"University of Michigan-Dearborn, is one of the few universities that is known for its graduate degree program in Automotive Systems Engineering. The program is an interdisciplinary program. The program is built in a way that it meets the current industry requirements. The program emphasizes on practical training, its more like " you learn when you do it". The program offers many research areas that a student can work on and also various co-op programs as well. The competition in this program is very high, students who are passionate about cars opt for this program, so one will be competing with the best of the best. The faculty for this program are very highly qualified and experienced and help students in every way hat is possible."

"For a commuter school which is significantly smaller than it's parent campus in Ann Arbor, the University of Michigan - Dearborn provides an excellent business education at tuition rates which are lower than the other big universities in Michigan. The College of Business is taught by full-time professors and adjunct faculty, a majority of whom still work in the field that they teach, not teaching assistants. As a result, students are provided with a high-quality education that connects classroom topics to the real world through the first-hand experiences of the people teaching the classes. The College of Business also has good connections with local businesses, including the Big 3 Automakers and Big 4 Accounting firms, along with a great internship program. The program helps students find professional internships, most of which are competitively paid, and provides career guidance. These services help a large majority of the students graduate with good job prospects, with some students even receiving job offers prior to graduation. All of the benefits of the University of Michigan - Dearborn College of Business are made even better when one considers that upon completion of their studies, they receive a University of Michigan Degree and become part of the Michigan Alumni Family, a network which will further help them in the future."

"The graduate program at UofM-Dearborn is a very convenient program. They offer plenty of classroom courses as well as online courses. It fits well into my schedule since I am going to school part-time. My biggest issue with this university is the lack of quality teachers (similar to undergraduate). The teachers clearly weren't hired for their ability to properly educate their students.."
